1. About GentleShe
GentleShe is a personal motherhood, reproductive wellbeing, tracking and journaling application designed to help women record and organise information relating to trying to conceive, pregnancy, postpartum recovery and their personal experiences.
GentleShe is operated by Iniobong Udoh.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information GentleShe processes, why we process it, how it is protected, when it may be shared with service providers, how long it may be retained and the choices and rights available to users.
2. Age requirement
GentleShe is intended for adults aged 18 years and above. We do not knowingly allow children under 18 to create GentleShe accounts or knowingly collect personal information from children through the service.
3. Information you may provide
The information GentleShe processes depends on the features you choose to use. This may include your email address, display name, authentication information, selected journey stage, menstrual and cycle records, last menstrual period, due date, pregnancy milestones, baby movement records, baby’s birth date, postpartum recovery information, symptoms, mood, pain, energy, sleep, bleeding, appetite, breastfeeding notes, medication notes, recovery notes, appointments, questions for healthcare professionals, diary entries, memories, photographs and other files you choose to upload.
4. Sensitive health and reproductive information
Some information you choose to enter into GentleShe may constitute sensitive personal information, including information concerning health, fertility, menstrual cycles, pregnancy and postpartum wellbeing. We process this information only where there is an appropriate lawful basis for doing so, including your consent where consent is required.
GentleShe does not sell your personal health or reproductive information. GentleShe does not use the health or reproductive information you record for targeted advertising.
5. How we use your information
- Create and maintain your GentleShe account.
- Authenticate you when you sign in.
- Provide the tracking, journaling and personalisation features you choose to use.
- Store and display your records, diary entries, milestones and files.
- Provide cycle, pregnancy or journey-related calculations and organisation features.
- Send account verification and password recovery emails.
- Maintain the security, reliability and proper operation of GentleShe.
- Respond to support or privacy requests.
- Investigate security incidents or misuse and comply with applicable legal obligations.
GentleShe does not use the information you enter to make a professional medical diagnosis.
6. Service providers
GentleShe relies on trusted third-party technology providers to operate parts of the service. Supabase provides infrastructure used for functions including user authentication, database services and private storage. Resend is used to deliver transactional emails such as account verification and password recovery emails.
These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services and operate GentleShe. If we introduce additional providers that materially change how personal information is processed, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate.
7. Technical information
GentleShe and its infrastructure providers may process limited technical information necessary to operate and secure the service, such as IP addresses, device information, authentication events, system logs, error information and security-related records. This information may be used for security, troubleshooting, fraud prevention and reliability.
8. International data processing
Some technology providers used by GentleShe may process or store information outside Nigeria. Where international transfers of personal data occur, we take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is handled in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements.
9. How we protect your information
GentleShe uses technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or destruction. These may include user authentication, account-based access controls, database access restrictions, secure network connections, private storage controls and restricted access to user records.
No internet-based system can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and protecting access to your device.
10. Data retention
We generally retain personal information for as long as your GentleShe account remains active or for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service. When you delete your account or submit a valid deletion request, personal information associated with the account will be deleted or de-identified, except where limited retention is necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution or backup purposes. Information in backups may remain temporarily until those backups are replaced through the normal backup lifecycle.
11. Account and data deletion
You may request permanent deletion of your GentleShe account and associated personal information. Account deletion is different from signing out or uninstalling the application. Visit the Delete Account page or contact privacy@gentleshe.com.
12. Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to request information about processing, access personal information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, withdraw consent where applicable, object to or restrict certain processing, request portability where applicable, and lodge a complaint with an appropriate data-protection authority.

13. Nigeria data protection
GentleShe is committed to processing personal information in accordance with applicable Nigerian data-protection requirements, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Where applicable, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
14. Medical and wellness information
GentleShe is a personal tracking, organisation and journaling application. GentleShe is not a substitute for professional medical care and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent medical conditions. Information and estimates displayed through GentleShe should not be relied upon instead of advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy where GentleShe changes, where our data practices change or where updates are required by applicable law or platform requirements. When significant changes are made, we may provide notice through GentleShe, our website or another appropriate method. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the current version took effect.
